E.K.G. Network Solutions began when C.E.O. and founder Kalvin Goodman decided to provide highly needed Information Technology services to businesses in need of low cost solutions. Becoming one of the few Managed Service Providers dedicated to Remote Monitoring and Management in the Chicago area.
He graduated from college with his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Network Management and started his career in Information Technology working with local technology solutions providers in Chicago providing Desktop Support, Break-Fix and Help Desk Support. One of his first jobs was working with the technology wing of the Arch Dioses of Chicago. Here he honed his customer service skills and mastered PC Break-Fix. He also gained a wealth of knowledge providing Help Desk and Desktop Support managing several locations as an I.T. Field Technician.
While working with the Arch Dioses he continued to gain additional skills including Windows Server Management which landed him a contract with a small business owner installing and Managing Windows Servers as well as providing Desktop and Help Desk Support to the Chicago branch of the Plumbers Union. While working with the Plumbers Union Kalvin gained experience with computer virtualization and Network Management giving him confidence as Information Technology Professional. Drawing from his experience working with the Ach Dioses nonprofit technology department Kalvin began volunteering his time and expertise at local technology organizations building computers and installing Operating Systems for underprivileged people in Chicago and abroad.
During this time he discovered that he loved providing solutions to people who need but often can’t afford the high cost associated with technology. Thus was born the idea of providing I.T. services to small to mid-sized businesses that are in need of professional computer network services at affordable rates. Combining his knowledge and experiences, he researched the resources available to establish a highly effective scalable Network Management system at minimal cost to clients and formulated a business model that reduces cost to clients through flat rate billing and optimizes functionality and reliability of computer networks. In his model he incorporated all the of the services necessary to manage and maintain a computer network including a ticketing system , on call site visits, 24/7 Help Desk Support, network monitoring, automated updating and application problem resolutions all at a flat rate per end device eliminating the need for a small business to hire a full time technician and reducing cost associated with technology maintenance while adding value to the company by managing and resolving technology related concerns.
